Active and Alive

 

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

—Hebrews 4:12

Does God’s written Word, the Bible, have any power? Indeed it does!

When people read God’s Word, the Holy Spirit can so empower the text that by their reading, accepting, and following its teachings, lives can turn to God and receive new life through the Lord Jesus Christ.

For those who already belong to Jesus, the Bible can give comfort, strength, and direction.

The writer of Hebrews declares in Hebrews 4:12:

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Let’s make certain we take a few moments this day to immerse ourselves in God’s Word. As we do, let’s invite the Holy Spirit to make God’s truth come alive in our hearts and minds.
