Chosen to Receive God’s Mercy

[Graphic of a Scripture verse]

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…”
—1 Peter 2:9a

Everyone would like to feel “special.” That’s just a natural part of being human, The Apostle Peter clearly understood this when he wrote these words found in 1 Peter 2:9-10:

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Let us rejoice this day in the mercy of God and celebrate His great love that He has so freely given us.
